At our weekly meeting on 7th August, the Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr. Christine Iredale visited the Club, and accepted the invitation to become an Honorary Member of Huddersfield Rotary Club during her year in office.
She and her consort, then joined in a lively discussion following a talk by Emma King entitled “The Holocaust and its legacy in Yorkshire – a new Heritage Centre for Huddersfield.
This will be a substantial permanent exhibition in the University, and is intended to encourage visitors from all over the North of England and beyond.

Although it is in its early stages, it is clearly something on an impressive scale and should be a welcome addition to visitor attractions in the town.
