On Saturday 10th March, Huddersfield Rotary Club were involved in two events at Ravensknowle Park in Huddersfield.

The first was the official unveiling of a defibrillator, to which Huddersfield Rotary Club, along with Friends of Ravensknowle, and the Bowling Croquet and Running Clubs, had all contributed towards the overall cost.

Picture shows representatives of all contributing groups, and those who had attended the ‘Operators Course’ proudly showing their certificates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then attention moved to the flower bed in the park, where Huddersfield Rotary Club had planted 3000 croci in November to draw attention to the Rotary International campaign to totally eliminate Polio worldwide. The word Rotary is spelled out in purple crocuses, and the banner explains the achievement of Rotary International. There are two countries in the world where Polio is still present, and this year will see a final push to complete the total worldwide elimination.
