The Frank Shaw Golf Trophy was presented to Huddersfield Rotary Club by Rotarian Frank Shaw in 1929, for annual competition among the members of the club, and has been competed for almost every year until 2016. At this point, only 3 members of the club were still playing golf and competing for the trophy, so it was decided to offer it to other clubs in the area.

As a result, on Wed 16th January 2019, Rotarians Ian Fillan and Chris Naylor attended the Halifax Rotary Club lunchtime meeting at The Shay Halifax, and presented the trophy to President Rotarian Lucy Hodgson. The only condition was that the Trophy should only be won by Rotarians, and with this in mind, Lucy confirmed that, either at their charity Golf Day, or on another suitable event, this would be upheld.
