On Monday 5th July, at the start of our Centenary Year, outgoing President Ann Denham handed over the President’s badge to incoming President Ian Fillan. As face to face meetings were still restricted, it was decided to hold this meeting outdoors in Ravensknowle Park. After a few days of deliberation, it was decided that the weather would be ok, and it was.

As our Hon. member for his year in office, the Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Nigel Patrick attended along with the Mayoress Judith Patrick.

During the meeting President Ian launched the Club’s major fundraising project for the year THE 100 CHALLENGE. For further details and how to donate, see our previous post in Club News, where at the bottom there is a link to our JustGiving page. Also Ex President Ann Denham launched a Marmalade project. Anyone wishing to purchase a jar of marmalade to swell our charity funds should contact secretary@huddersfieldrotary.org

After the meeting, members and guests enjoyed a picnic in the warm, but dry, summer evening, and looked forward to an exciting and busy Centenary year..
