On Monday 16th August, Huddersfield Rotary held a Club meeting via Zoom. President Ian opened the meeting by calling for a few moments silence in remembrance of their member Barrie Schofield, who passed away on Sunday 15th August.

Their Guest speakers represented MedAid UK (London) and CART (Albert Street Huddersfield).   with Simon to inspect the work in progress. Simon from MedAid gave a presentation, illustrating the fantastic work they and CART have been doing in Northern Uganda. Glenn from CART described his visit to Uganda with Simon to inspect the work in progress. Together they have built a hospital from scratch, so that villages in the area could more easily access health care. The unit houses a general hospital, a maternity ward, and shortly a dental practice. They have installed solar panels to provide electricity, equipment has been shipped out from UK, and they are currently working towards providing a clean water supply. The vote of thanks was given by Ann, who promised ongoing support for the project.
